Through 7 PM EDT...isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop and dissipate across the Lake Okeechobee region and across interior sections of South Florida, the Gulf Coast, and the near shore Gulf waters. These storms will move to the northwest to north at 5 to 10 mph. Any storms that do develop may contain frequent lightning strikes, gusty winds up to 30 mph, and locally heavy rainfall. If you see lightning or hear thunder...move inside until the storms have passed by. Mariners can also expect higher waves in and near the showers and thunderstorms.
