Active weather will persist across western Europe on Sunday as an area of low pressure spins over the region. This system will advance eastward from the Bay of Biscay and center itself over France. Counter-clockwise flow around this system will continue pulling abundant moisture in from the North Atlantic Ocean, kicking up scattered showers and thunderstorms from Germany and France, through the Iberian Peninsula. The northern side of this system may reach over the English Channel, bringing scattered showers to southern England. Paris will see scattered showers and thunderstorms with highs in the upper 60s(F)/ near 20(C), while Barcelona will also see scattered thunderstorms with highs in the lower 70s(F)/ lower 20s(C). London will be overcast with a chance of scattered rain showers throughout the day and highs remaining in the mid-60s(F)/ upper teens(C). As the system moves eastward throughout the day, it will bring increasingly cloudy skies to Italy. Rome will be cloudy with rain showers developing by evening and highs in the mid-70s(F)/ lower 20s(C).

East of this system, a ridge of high pressure spinning over Russia will extend northeastward, stretching into the eastern European countries. This will create dry and pleasant conditions for most of Scandinavia, eastern Europe, and western Russia. However to the south, an area of low pressure lingers over the Black Sea, producing light and scattered showers over the surrounding countries.
