Statement as of 2:27 PM PDT on August 29, 2015

... High surf advisory remains in effect until 5 PM PDT this
afternoon...

* waves and surf... strong winds will produce breaking waves of
14 to 18 feet on south facing beaches.

* Timing... waves have peaked... and will slowly diminish through
the late afternoon and evening.

* Locations... exposed beaches north of Humbug Mountain.

* Impacts... heavy surf will result in hazardous conditions along
area beaches... especially along more southerly oriented
coastlines. Also... damaging wave action is possible for low
lying areas and exposed infrastructure.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing rip currents and localized beach
erosion.
