Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will affect the north central mountains...upper Rio Grande Valley and northeast plains through the mid afternoon. Storm movement will be towards the east at 12 mph. Occasional cloud to ground lightning and wind gusts between 30 to 40 mph will be associated with the stronger cells. Rainfall will be limited and generally produce a hundredth or so. The higher elevations will observe ice pellets at times.

... Red flag warning in effect from 11 am to 9 PM MDT Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a red flag
warning... which is in effect from 11 am to 9 PM MDT Thursday.

* Area and timing... this includes the north central mountains and
west Central Highlands below below significant snow pack as well
as the Rio Grande Valley late Thursday morning through early
evening.

* 20 foot winds... westerly 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph.

* Relative humidity... minimums between 5 and 8 percent lowlands
and 9 to 15 percent Highlands.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the
field of this red flag warning.

Wednesday.

* Area and timing... this includes the northeast and east Central
Plains as well as the northeast Highlands and Sandia... Manzano
and Gallinas Mountains below significant snow pack both
Wednesday and Thursday afternoon/S to early evening.

* 20 foot winds... on Wednesday... westerly 20 to 25 mph with
gusts to 35 mph increasing to 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 45
mph on Thursday.

* Relative humidity... minimums between 10 to 15 percent Wednesday
and 6 to 15 percent Thursday.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
