Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 7:01 PM MDT on July 04, 2015

... The small stream Flood Advisory remains in effect until 815 PM MST
for south central Yavapai County...

At 656 PM MST... Doppler radar indicated only light rain is falling
in the area between Cordes Junction and Black Canyon City. A gauge
located on the Aqua fria river near Cordes Junction reported about a
3.5 foot rise at 6 PM MST. Expect similar rises downstream over the
next 60 minutes or so.

Some locations that may experience flooding include... Black Canyon
City... Cordes Lakes... Cordes Junction and Rock Springs.

This includes the following streams and drainages... Black Canyon
creek... Sycamore Creek... Silver Creek... Ash Creek... Agua Fria river.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.
