Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 1:33 PM MDT on August 31, 2015

The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a

* small stream Flood Advisory for poor drainage areas for...
southwestern Coconino County in north central Arizona...
northeastern Yavapai County in west central Arizona...

* until 430 PM MST

* at 130 PM MST... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms about 10 miles northwest of Clarkdale. This will
cause small stream flooding and overflowing of poor drainage areas.

This includes the following streams and drainages... blowout creek...
Munds Draw... Hell Canyon... rattlesnake wash... Bear Canyon...
Grindstone Wash... Verde river... Sycamore Creek... wagon tire wash and
Railroad Draw.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.
