The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the San Jacinto river near Sheldon.
* From Wednesday morning to late Thursday night... or until the
warning is canceled.
* At 0855 PM Tuesday the stage was 8.4 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is expected to approach and go into flood
stage on Wednesday.
* At 10.0 feet... minor lowland flooding begins.

* At 0915 PM Tuesday the stage was 28.4 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 24.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river has crested. Little change in the river level
is expected over the next few days.
* At 28.0 feet... major lowland flooding begins with water over Road
near gage.

* At 0931 PM Tuesday the stage was 157.1 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 157.3 feet.
* Forecast... the creek is expected to crest near 157 feet due to
rainfall from last night.
* At 157.3 feet... minor lowland flooding begins in the vicinity of
the gage as water escapes the Main Channel and spills into the
floodplain.

* until late Saturday night... or until the warning is canceled.
* At 0845 PM Tuesday the stage was 51.8 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 49.3 feet.
* Forecast... the river has crested and is expected to begin falling
tonight.
* At 51.5 feet... moderate lowland flooding continues with up to one
foot of water is over the Road at the intersection of bellau wodd
and Riviera and many homes in the Northshore subdivision are
flooded.
