Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 3:52 PM CDT on June 03, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch in effect from 7 PM CDT this evening through
Thursday morning...

The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of north central Kansas and
Nebraska... including the following areas... in north central
Kansas... Jewell... Mitchell... Osborne... Phillips and Smith. In
Nebraska... Adams... Buffalo... Clay... Fillmore... Franklin...
Hall... Hamilton... Harlan... Kearney... Nuckolls... Phelps...
Thayer... Webster and York.

* From 7 PM CDT this evening through Thursday morning

* thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rainfall will likely
develop this evening and track across portions of the watch area
through the overnight hours. Locally heavy rainfall of 1 to 4
inches will be possible. Heavy rainfall on soil that is already
very moist will set the stage for localized flash flooding. Not
everyone will see heavy rainfall and there is still some
uncertainty on exactly where thunderstorms will develop... but
those that do experience heavy rain will want to be mindful of
the possibility of flash flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
