Special Statement
Issued: 3:31 AM CST Feb. 12, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Light snows across much of the area this morning...

One area of mainly light snow will spread eastward from southeast
Illinois through west Kentucky by daybreak. The southern edge of
the band is roughly along a Metropolis Illinois to Cadiz
Kentucky line. Up to an inch of snow will be possible in areas
from Vienna Illinois to Princeton and Elkton Kentucky.

A second area of lighter snows will move east southeast... generally
along the I-64 corridor in southern Illinois through daybreak... and
then across southwest Indiana through mid-morning. A dusting up to
a half inch of snow will be possible... with the greatest amounts
generally north of the Interstate.

The minor accumulations of snow generally below 1 inch may result
in some slick spots on area roads this morning... especially prior
to sunrise. Bridges and untreated... lesser traveled roads will
have the most problems. Motorists early this morning should slow
down and allow extra time to reach their destinations. Conditions
should improve quickly after sunrise.
