... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 4 PM this
afternoon to 10 am EST Thursday...

Hazardous weather...

* snow showers will become more widespread and intense this
   afternoon.

* Snow will be heavy at times... with snow rates of an inch per
   hour possible.

* Winds from the northwest occasionally gusting to 35
   mph... producing periods of near zero visibility late this
   afternoon through Wednesday morning.

* This is a prolonged snow event... through Thursday morning.
   Total snowfall through this period is expected to exceed six
   inches. Localized areas of a foot of snow will be possible.

Impacts...

* roads will become snow covered and slippery starting this
   afternoon.

* Todays evening commute will be impacted with slow and hazardous
   travel. Additional commutes into Thursday morning will also be
   impacted.

* Road salt will become less effective into tonight as
   temperatures drop into the teens. The cold air will continue
   over the region through Thursday.
