... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 am EST
Thursday...

Hazardous weather...

* snow showers will become more widespread and intense this
   evening. The bands of snow will persist through Wednesday
   night.

* Snow will be heavy at times... with snow rates in excess of an
   inch per hour possible.

* Winds from the northwest occasionally gusting to 35 mph...
   producing periods of near zero visibility tonight through
   Wednesday night.

* This will be a prolonged snow event... through Thursday
   morning. Total. Most locations should see in excess of a foot
   of snow by Thursday morning.

Impacts...

* roads will become snow covered and slippery starting this
   afternoon.

* Todays evening commute will be impacted with slow and
   hazardous travel. Additional commutes into Thursday morning
   will also be impacted. This includes portions of interstates
   94 and 196 along with Route 31. An increased risk for
   multiple vehicle pileups will exist.

* Road salt will become less effective into tonight as
   temperatures drop into the teens. The cold air will continue
   over the region through Thursday.
