... Wind chill watch in effect from late tonight through Sunday
morning...

The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a wind
chill watch... which is in effect from late tonight through Sunday
morning.

* Wind chill readings... 20 to 30 below zero... primarily above
3000 feet in elevation.

* Timing... late tonight through Saturday night.

* Impacts... frost bite and hypothermia are possible if precautions
are not taken.

* Winds... northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts 40 to 50 mph tonight.
Somewhat lower wind gusts during the day on Saturday. Winds
diminish Saturday night.

* Temperatures... single digits with below zero readings in the
higher elevations late tonight... recovering into the lower teens
on Saturday but staying below zero on the ridges. Temperatures
falling 5 to 10 below zero Saturday night.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A wind chill watch means the there is the potential for a
combination of very cold air and strong winds to create
dangerously low wind chill values. Monitor the latest forecasts
and warnings for updates on this situation.
