... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 7 PM this evening to 7 PM
EST Thursday...

The National Weather Service in State College has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for heavy snow... which is in effect from 7 PM this
evening to 7 PM EST Thursday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer
in effect.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches... along with
brief period of sleet and freezing rain.

* Hazard types... heavy snow... and a sharp drop in temperature.

* Ice accumulations... little if any ice accumulation.

* Snow accumulations... 4 to 8 inches.

* Timing... snow will move back into the area by late afternoon or
early this evening. The snow will continue into Thursday.

* Impacts... hazardous travel.

* Winds... becoming northwest at 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20
mph Wednesday night into Thursday.

* Temperatures... in the upper 30s and lower 40s early today... then
falling into the 20s tonight. Little change expected for Thursday.

... Flood Watch in effect through this evening...

The National Weather Service in State College has issued a

* Flood Watch for a portion of central Pennsylvania... including
the following areas... Bedford... Blair... Cambria... Clearfield
and Somerset.

* Through this evening

* the combination of rainfall and snow melt will lead to the
possibility of urban... small stream and poor drainage flooding
across the region today. Many rivers and streams are still
frozen and the possibility of ice jams also exists.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding on small
streams... creeks... poor drainage... urban and low-lying areas
based on current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.
