The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
northeastern Allegheny County in southwestern Pennsylvania...

* until 315 PM EDT

* at 1221 PM EDT... Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small
Stream flooding in the advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has
already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Pittsburgh... Ross township... McCandless township... Shaler
township... north side Pittsburgh... Hampton township... O'Hara
township... Bellevue... Wexford... West View... Stowe township... McKees
Rocks... Fox Chapel... Avalon... Tarentum... Millvale... Etna...
Springdale... Aspinwall and Gibsonia.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in
urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage areas and low lying spots. Do not attempt to travel
