A band of heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms will push eastward across locations south of a line from Jackson to Meridian through 300 am CST. Wind gusts to 35 mph will accompany this activity. After the band of rain and thunderstorms passes...a period of light to moderate rain will continue for one or two hours...and winds will quickly become northwesterly. Rainfall amounts are expected to range from one-half to three-quarters of an inch through early morning... with locally higher amounts near thunderstorms.

Northwest winds of 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph will be possible today in the wake of a strong cold front. This will result in a rough chop on the lakes. The winds will become lighter this evening as high pressure builds into the region and the pressure gradient weakens.
