Issued: 4:30 AM EST Feb. 14, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from late tonight through
Monday evening...

* locations... the southern foothills... southern mountains... and
the Piedmont of western North Carolina. Also... northeast
Georgia and upstate South Carolina mainly northwest of
Interstate 85.

* Hazards... a mixture of snow... sleet... and freezing rain.

* Timing... precipitation will begin as light snow tonight... mixing
with and changing over to sleet Monday morning. A period of
freezing rain will be possible into Monday afternoon before
temperatures warm enough to change the precipitation over to all
rain sometime Monday afternoon.

* Accumulations... snow and sleet accumulations ranging from up to
an inch near the Interstate 85 corridor to 3 inches along and
north of Interstate 40. This may include one half inch or more
of sleet... along with a glaze to a tenth of an inch of ice from
freezing rain.

* Winds... east at 5 to 10 mph.

* Impacts... accumulations of snow... sleet... and freezing rain
may result in hazardous travel conditions.

* Temperatures... mostly in the 20s early... rising above freezing
through the day on Monday.

snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
