... Dense fog advisory in effect until 9 am PDT Saturday...

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a dense fog
advisory... which is in effect until 9 am PDT Saturday.

* Location... dense fog will develop across San Diego and Orange
County coastal areas this evening and continue through early
Saturday morning.

* Visibility... down to one-quarter mile or less at times.

* Impacts... poor visililities on roads and highways including
I-5... I-405... I-805... western sections of I-8... southern
sections of I-15 and Highway 163. Airports delays are possible
Saturday morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down...
use low beam headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of
you.

... Beach hazards statement remains in effect through Sunday
afternoon...

* waves and surf... 3 to 5 feet. Occasional sets to 6 feet.

* Timing... through Sunday.

* Impacts... strong rip currents producing hazardous conditions
for swimmers... particularly today and Saturday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Use caution when in or near the water and always swim near a
lifeguard.

Never turn your back to the ocean.

A beach hazards statement is issued when threats such as strong
rip currents... elevated surf heights... minor tidal overflow... or
lightning are possible at local beaches. Obey posted warning
signs and flags and talk to a lifeguard before swimming.
