Watches & Warnings

Winter Weather Statement
Issued: 4:07 PM EST Feb. 9, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory is cancelled...

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has cancelled the
Winter Weather Advisory for a portions of Maryland's Eastern
Shore, central and southern Delaware and the southeast coastal
plain of New Jersey.

Rain may change to wet snow tonight but above freezing temperatures
should prevent much in the way of a significant accumulation.

Still, motorists and pedestrians alike should be alert for icy
stretches of pavement later tonight.

Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued: 2:48 PM EST Feb. 9, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Coastal Flood Advisory in effect from 7 PM this evening to
midnight EST tonight...

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a coastal
Flood Advisory. It is in effect from 700 PM this evening until
midnight tonight.

* Location... the New Jersey counties of ocean, southeastern
Burlington, Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland, and the Delaware
counties of Sussex and Kent.

* Coastal flooding... minor flooding is anticipated around the
time of this evening's high Tide. Water levels will not be as
high as those of this morning.

* Timing... high tide on the New Jersey and Delaware oceanfront
occurs between 730 PM and 830 PM this evening. High tide on the
back bays and along Delaware Bay occurs later than the high
tide on the oceanfront.

* Waves... waves on the near-shore waters off New Jersey and
Delaware will range from 4 to 7 feet.

* Impacts... localized roadway flooding is expected. Some roads
may be closed due to high water. Additional beach erosion is
likely.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Advisory means that minor tidal flooding is
expected. Minor tidal flooding often results in some Road
closures. Usually, the most vulnerable roadways will flood.

Do not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal
flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The
water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting
yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged, leading to
costly repairs.
