... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 6 PM MDT this
evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of east central Colorado... including the following
areas... El Paso County and Teller County and the Rampart
Range.

* Until 6 PM MDT this evening

* moist southerly flow aloft... along with weather disturbances
embedded within the flow... will bring periods of moderate to
heavy rainfall to the area through this afternoon.

* The Waldo Canyon and Black Forest burn scars will be the most
susceptible to flash flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

... Significant weather advisory for east central Teller and west
central El Paso counties until 130 PM MDT...

At 1156 am MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
moderate rain showers tracking across the Waldo Canyon burn scar
area... moving northwest at 20 mph.

Rainfall amounts up to .20 inches will be possible on the Waldo
Canyon burn scar with these showers through 130 PM MDT.
However... if the showers intensify further... then heavier amounts
will be possible.

The rainfall is currently not expected to fall at rates that will
cause flooding problems. If this expectation changes... then further
statements... advisories or warning will be issued as necessary. Stay
tuned to your National Weather Service in Pueblo for the latest
updates throughout the day.
