Fire Weather Warning
Statement as of 8:17 AM PDT on August 01, 2015

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 10 PM PDT this
evening for a dry and unstable air mass above 2000 feet elevation
in fire weather zones 652... 658... 659 and 661...

* affected area... fire weather zones 652... 658... 659 and 661.
This includes the Olympic Mountains and the Cascades west of
the crest. This warning is targeted to locations above 2000
feet elevation.

* Haines... mid-level and high-level Haines 5. This indicates a
very dry and somewhat unstable air mass.

* Temperatures... around 15 degrees above normal for this time
of year.

* Humidity... falling below 25 percent again this afternoon... with
poor nighttime humidity recovery continuing through tonight.

* Impacts... outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A dry and unstable
air mass with warm temperatures can contribute to active fire
behavior. In western Washington... significant growth on existing
fires has historically taken place under such conditions.
