... Flood Warning extended until Tuesday morning...

the Flood Warning continues for
the Washita river near Dickson.

* Until Tuesday morning... or until the warning is cancelled.

* At 9:30 am Friday the stage was 27.6 feet.

* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 27.0 feet.

* Forecast... the Washita river will begin rising and crest near
29.5 feet mid Saturday morning. The Washita river will fall below
flood stage early Tuesday morning.

* Impact... at 30 feet... flood depths up to 5 feet extend along the
Washita River Valley... from near Davis in Murray County... to near
Dickson in Carter County... to the headwaters of Lake Texoma in
Johnston County. Several homesteads are isolated. About 5 thousand
acres of agricultural lands are covered. Any flooding on tributary
creeks is increased by backwater from the river.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* all of central... southern... and southwestern Oklahoma... and all
of western North Texas.

* Through Monday morning

* up to an inch of rainfall possible through midnight tonight

* Saturday and Sunday 2 to 5 inches of rainfall expected with
locally higher amounts

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Monitor weather forecasts and information. Avoid travel in
flooded areas... and make plans to get to higher ground if
