Special Statement
Statement as of 11:39 AM AKDT on July 27, 2015

... Heavy rain showers expected in the interior...

Locally heavy rain is expected to continue across portions of the
interior as a moist and unstable atmosphere persists the next
several days. Showers and thunderstorms with rain rates exceeding
one inch per hour occurred over the weekend from the Tanana-Yukon
uplands south to the Alaska Range. Additional showers and
thunderstorms with high rain rates and small hail are expected in
this area through at least Wednesday.

The heavy rain will continue to be localized and cause rapid
rises on smaller streams in steep terrain and in recently burned
areas. Flooding is not expected at this time but as this region
becomes more saturated... the likelihood of smaller streams
reaching bankfull will increase. Larger rivers and streams will
see gradual rises but will remain below bankfull.
