Special Statement
Statement as of 1:35 PM AKDT on September 04, 2015

... Rising water levels on the lower Kenai River through this
weekend...

The release of the snow Glacier-dammed lake in the mountains of
the Kenai Peninsula has ended. Water levels on Kenai Lake and the
upper Kenai River have crested... and a diminishing pulse of water
will now be moving into Skilak Lake and eventually into the lower
Kenai River. All flood waters are now receding... including water
that had been affecting Primrose Road... and no additional flooding
is expected.

Residents and those with interests on the lower Kenai River below
Skilak Lake can expect gradually rising water through the weekend
before water begins dropping by early next week. No flooding is
expected and water levels are expected to remain within bank.

Residual Woody debris flowing through the Kenai River system will
be making its way downstream over the coming days.
Recreationalists should use extra caution when navigating on the
river this weekend.
