	Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 1:37 AM AKST on November 22, 2009 ... Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 6 am akst Monday... The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for wind chill... heavy snow and blowing snow ... Which is in effect until 6 am akst Monday. An approaching storm system will increase wind speeds across the area early Sunday morning. These winds combined with low temperatures already in place will create wind chills to 45 below early Sunday morning before the snow begins. Snow will begin to fall this morning and will continue into Monday morning. Storm total accumulation around 4 inches is expected through Monday morning. The falling snow combined with wind gusts in excess of 30 mph will frequently reduce visibility below one mile in blowing snow. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory means that one or more winter hazards are expected to cause travel difficulties. Use caution when traveling.

Statement as of 12:48 am AKST on November 22, 2009 ... New daily temperature records set in Bettles on Saturday... A new daily record low temperature of 47 below was set in Bettles on Saturday. The previous record of 45 below was set in 1994. This is the fifth new daily low temperature record this week. In addition... a new record daily low maximum temperature was set in Bettles on Saturday. The temperature never rose above 31 below on Saturday... which easily beats the previous record low maximum of 25 below set in 1955. This is the third new record low maximum for Bettles this week.
