The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
southwestern Chelan County in north central Washington...

* until 630 PM PDT

* at 335 PM PDT... Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding or debris flow
is expected to begin shortly. Excessive rainfall over the Chiwaukum
burn scar could result in debris flow moving over sections of
Highway 2 between Winton and north of Leavenworth. The debris flow
can consist of rock... mud... vegetation and other loose materials.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Tumwater campground.

... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 645 PM PDT for
northwestern Douglas and east central Chelan counties...

At 450 PM PDT... local law enforcement reported flooding in Manson
along with a mudslide on State Route 150 at Rocky Point.
There are no thunderstorms over the warned area as of 5pm... however
more storms are approaching from the west and could bring another
round of heavy rain between 6 and 8 PM.

Over an inch of rain has already fallen.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Chelan... Stayman... Lake Chelan State Park... Manson... Chelan Falls and
Azwell.

central Chelan counties until 600 PM PDT...

At 509 PM PDT... Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles southwest of south Wenatchee... or 9 miles south of Wenatchee...
moving northeast at 20 mph.

Dime to nickel size hail... torrential downpours... and winds in excess of
30 mph will be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Wenatchee... East Wenatchee... Rock Island... south Wenatchee... East
Wenatchee bench... West Wenatchee... Mission Ridge... Malaga... and colockum
tarps burn scar.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm... and may lead
to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
