Heat Advisory
Statement as of 3:45 AM PDT on July 03, 2015

... Heat advisory remains in effect until 9 PM PDT this evening...

* timing... through this evening.

* Locations... the Puget Sound Metro area including Seattle...
Tacoma... Bellevue... and The Lowlands east of Puget Sound.

* Temperatures... highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s today.

* Impacts... high temperatures can place extra stress on the body
and possibly lead to heat exhaustion. It is easier to become
dehydrated. The interior of automobiles can become very hot...
creating a danger if children or pets are left unattended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take extra precautions... if you work or spend time outside. When
possible... reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.

To reduce risk during outdoor work... the occupational safety and
health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by
heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke
is an emergency... call 9 1 1.

A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids... stay in an air-conditioned
room... stay out of the sun... and check up on relatives and
neighbors.

315 PM PDT Thu Jul 2 2015

... Hot weather will continue over western Washington through the
Fourth of July weekend... .

Strong high pressure will remain over the Pacific northwest
through the Fourth of July weekend. This will keep daily high
temperatures well above normal. For Friday and Saturday... the
hottest temperatures will be over the greater Puget Sound region
and the southwest interior with highs in the 80s to lower 90s. The
coast and northwest interior will be in the 70s to mid 80s.

On Sunday... offshore flow will develop which will push high
temperatures into the 80s to mid 90s throughout just about all of
western Washington. Some observing stations could be some new
record high temperatures for the date.

Temperatures in most areas will cool into the 50s overnight
Friday night and Saturday night... providing some relief from the
daytime heat. However in the Puget Sound Metro area corridor
including Seattle... Bellevue... Tacoma... and the east Puget Sound
lowlands... low temperatures will remain in the 60s for much of
the area. The warmer overnight temperatures will provide less
relief from the hot days.

Hot weather... especially during an extended stretch like this... can
place extra stress on the body and possibly lead to heat
exhaustion. It is easier to become dehydrated. The interior of
automobiles can become very hot... creating a danger if children
or pets are left unattended.

Take extra precautions... if you work or spend time outside. When
possible... reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water. Use sun block.
