Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 4:43 AM PST on November 22, 2009
... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 1 PM PST this
afternoon...
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for the northern and
central Washington Cascades until 1 PM PST this afternoon.
A vigorous Pacific frontal system brought 8 to 16 inches of snow
to the Cascades Saturday afternoon and last night. Another 8 to
16 inches of snow is likely today as moist westerly flow follows
the front. Most of the snow will fall during the morning and early
afternoon... with decreasing showers later in the day.
The snow level will fall to 2000 feet this afternoon as snowfall
tapers off.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet... and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also
possible. This will make travel hazardous or impossible. If you
plan to travel into the Cascades be prepared for hazardous
driving conditions... long delays... and Road closures.
