Heat Advisory
Statement as of 6:38 AM PDT on July 05, 2015

... Heat advisory remains in effect until 6 PM PDT this evening for
the south Willamette Valley... central Oregon Coast Range... and the
Lane County Cascade foothills...

A heat advisory remains in effect until 6 PM PDT this evening.

* High temperatures: generally in the 90s... except 85 to 95 in
the central Oregon Coast Range. Hottest time of the day will be
noon to 5 PM.

* Relief: there is a good chance that a southwesterly push of
marine air may bring a significant cooldown into the 50s for
much of the area tonight and early Monday. This may hold
temperatures in the 80s to lower 90s Monday before warming up
again Tuesday and Wednesday.

* Locations include: Eugene... Springfield... Corvallis...
Albany... Veneta... Cottage Grove

* impacts: take care not to over exert during the heat of the
day... and to stay hydrated with clear liquids. Automobiles
can heat up rapidly to temperatures harmful or even deadly
to pets and children. Use caution near area rivers... be
water smart... wear a life jacket and use good judgment.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible... reschedule strenuous activities to early morning. Know
the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear
light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink
plenty of water.

To reduce risk during outdoor work the occupational safety and
health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by
heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke
is an emergency... call 9 1 1.
