The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a high surf
advisory... which is in effect until 6 PM HST this evening.

* Surf... along north facing shores of The Big Island... 10 to 15 feet.

* Timing... through 6 PM HST today.

* Impacts... moderate... expect strong breaking waves... shore
break... and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming
difficult and dangerous.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...
beachgoers... swimmers... and surfers should heed all advice given
by ocean safety officials and exercise caution.

... Wind Advisory in effect from 8 am this morning to 8 PM HST
this evening...

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect from 8 am this morning to 8 PM HST
this evening.

* Timing... winds increasing during the morning... then at advisory
levels through early this evening.

* Winds... north to northeast 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
The strongest winds will be found in the south kohala area...
including Kawaihae... Waikoloa and Waimea. Another area of strong
winds will occur from Hilo southward through the puna district.

* Impacts... motorists... especially those in high profile
vehicles... are urged to drive with extreme caution. Some weaker
tree species such as albizia may shed branches... especially in
areas that rarely see strong winds. Lightweight outdoor objects
may be blown around... and should be secured before winds
increase.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of at least 30 mph...
or gusts of at least 50 mph... are expected. Motorists should use
extra caution.
