through early evening are expected to produce abundant
lightning.

* Outflow winds... gusts to 30 mph possible in and near
thunderstorm activity.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.

The red flag warning is now in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to
11 PM PDT Sunday. The Fire Weather Watch for Sunday has been
upgraded.

* Thunderstorms: scattered dry thunderstorms are expected over
much of fire weather zones 280, 281, and 284 this weekend.
Storms may become isolated at night... however they will remain
dry.

* Impacts: dry thunderstorms may result in numerous new starts.
Low humidities... hot temperatures... and dry thunderstorms with
gusty and erratic outflow winds will create extreme fire
behavior on existing fires and new fire starts.

* Timing: the greatest threat for thunderstorms will be during the
afternoon and evening hours, however, storms may continue
overnight as well.

* Affected area: in northern CA... fire weather zones 280... 281
and 284.

* Counties affected: Siskiyou.

occurring or imminent.
