Fire Weather Warning
Statement as of 8:43 AM PDT on August 02, 2015

... Red flag warning in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 9 PM
PDT this evening for thunderstorms and gusty outflow winds for
fire weather zones 203... 204... and 283... ...

The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a red flag
warning... which is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 9 PM PDT
this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* Affected areas... fire weather zones 203... 204... and northern
portions of zone 283.

* Thunderstorms... scattered thunderstorms have the potential to
produce abundant lightning today.

* Outflow winds... gusts to 30 mph possible in and near
thunderstorms.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures will
create rapid fire growth potential.

315 am PDT sun Aug 2 2015

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 11 PM PDT this
evening...

* thunderstorms: isolated mostly dry thunderstorms this morning
will become scattered this afternoon and continue into this
evening. While storms will start out mostly dry, they will
become wetter with time.

* Impacts: increasing thunderstorm activity may produce new fire
starts and will create erratic fire behavior on new and existing
fires.

* Timing and locations: the greatest coverage of thunderstorms
will be during the afternoon and evening hours and in the
mountains. However, storms will move out over the valleys at
times.

* Affected area: in northern CA... fire weather zones 280... 281
and 284.

* Counties affected: Siskiyou.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that extreme fire conditions are
occurring or imminent.
