Statement as of 9:08 AM PST on November 24, 2009 ... Patchy fog lingering in the central and southern San Joaquin Valley this morning... Patchy fog in the central and southern San Joaquin Valley will gradually dissipate during the next couple of hours. The fog will be most persistent along Highway 99 north of Merced and just west of the Highway 99 corridor... stretching southward from Merced to around the Hanford and Corcoran areas. Visibilities as low as 200 feet can be encountered in these patches of fog before it dissipates by around 11 am this morning. Drivers in the central and southern San Joaquin Valley should use extra caution this morning. Slow down... leave extra distance between you and other vehicles... and be alert for rapidly changing visibilities. Listen to NOAA Weather Radio... or your favorite news source... for updates on this situation. |
