Areas of snow will continue to move east over western and central New Mexico...though it will become a little more widespread across northwest and north central New Mexico through 3 am MST...but remaining much more spotty in west central and southwest New Mexico west of The Divide. Snow will generally be light to moderate with amounts ranging from one to two inches. Snow covered roads may become the rule rather than the exception near and north of Interstate 40. In addition...visibility may be reduced to less than one half mile at times in snow and fog. Expect difficult winter driving conditions. Statement as of 8:20 PM MST on February 27, 2015

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 PM MST Sunday...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow remains in effect until 4
PM MST Sunday.

* Snow accumulations... additional 10 to 20 inches is expected
above 8500 feet tonight through Sunday... with 4 to 10 inches
below 8000 feet. Heavier snow amounts this weekend will favor
west and southwest facing slopes above 8500 feet.

* Timing... additional batches of new snow are expected to increase
over the area overnight. Periods of heavy snow will then
continue through Sunday.

* Winds... significant winds are not expected.

* Snow levels... temperatures will be cold enough for snow at all
locations until Saturday afternoon through Sunday when the
snow level will lift to around 8000 feet.

* Local impacts... hazardous travel conditions due to snow packed
and icy roadways are expected along with reduced visibility
in locally heavy snow. Road closures will be possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food...
and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
