... The Flash Flood Warning for southwestern Sandoval... northeastern
Cibola and southeastern McKinley counties will expire at 545 PM
MDT...

The heavy rain has ended... and flash flooding is no longer expected
to pose a threat. However... hazardous water levels may persist in
Canon de Pedro Padilla... arroyos Conchas... Canon tapia and Hay
Meadow Canyon as runoff gradually recedes.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until midnight MDT tonight...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of north and central nm... including the following
areas... Central Highlands... Chuska Mountains... eastern San Miguel
County... Estancia valley... Guadalupe County... middle Rio Grande
Valley/Albuquerque Metro area... northwest plateau... San Francisco
River Valley... Sandia/Manzano Mountains... Santa Fe Metro area...
Southwest Mountains... west Central Highlands... west central
mountains and west Central Plateau.

* Until midnight MDT tonight

* a very moist airmass remains in place and this will support
scattered to numerous thunderstorms... primarily over central to
northwestern and north central New Mexico. Periods of heavy
rainfall may lead to flash flooding with rainfall rates commonly
approaching 1 to 3 inches per hour.

* Locales that will be most susceptible to flash flooding include
those around steep terrain... urban drainages... and areas that
have recently experienced heavy rainfall over the past few days.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to
flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
