Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 1:19 PM MDT on July 29, 2015

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Arroyo and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
northeastern Socorro County in central New Mexico...
west central Torrance County in central New Mexico...
southeastern Valencia County in central New Mexico...

* until 315 PM MDT

* at 116 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms extending from Mountainair and
Abo... toward Meadowlake over and just west of the Manzano
Mountains. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen in localized
areas... and rainfall rates of one and one and one half inches per
hour are likely. Thunderstorms will become more numerous through
early afternoon as they drift toward the north or northeast.

* Locations impacted include...
Mountainair... Manzano mountain State Park... Abo... Meadow Lake...
Torreon... Manzano and El Cerro mission.

Other locations affected include the following locations
Capilla Peak campground... New Canyon campground... Red Canyon
campground... and Pine Shadows trailhead.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely.

The heavy rainfall and slow movement of these storms may result in
flooding of Road intersections and low-lying
areas. Waters may begin to run in normally dry arroyos.
