The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
central Coconino County in north central Arizona...

* until 515 PM MST

* at 210 PM MST... Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing
heavy rain across the warned area in the Grand Canyon. Flash
flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... eastern
portions of the the Grand Canyon along and near the Colorado River
and side canyons east of phantom ranch.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life. Do not
try to Cross Trails that are flooded!

northeastern Coconino County...

At 152 PM MST... Doppler radar indicated light to moderate rainfall
continuing over the Antelope Creek basin. Up to 1.5 inches of rain
has fallen over the middle and upper portions of Antelope Creek.
Flash flooding is expected in The Slot canyons within and near the
warned area.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
the Antelope Creek basin and Antelope Canyon.

... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 400 PM MST for
eastern portions of the Grand Canyon in northern Coconino County...

At 144 PM MST... Doppler radar indicated light to moderate rain
continuing over the eastern portion of the Grand Canyon. Up to two
inches of rain have already fallen in and around the warned
area... and flash flooding is likely occurring in normally dry
washes and streams.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life. Do not
attempt to cross where water is over the trails.

The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a

* small stream Flood Advisory for...
east central Coconino County in north central Arizona...
western Navajo County in northeastern Arizona...

* until 445 PM MST

* at 149 PM MST... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding in the
area north of Interstate 40 between Two Guns and Leupp.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Leupp and sunrise.

This includes the following streams and drainages... Coyote Wash...
Canyon Diablo Wash... and the Little Colorado River.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

* at 122 PM MST... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in
the Winslow area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Winslow and homolovi State Park campground.

This includes the following streams and drainages... Clear Creek...
Tucker Flat Wash... Jacks Canyon... Cottonwood Wash... Coyote Wash...
fern feather wash and Little Colorado River.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in
urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage areas and low lying spots. Do not attempt to travel
across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.
