Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 12:34 AM MDT on September 01, 2015

The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
northeastern Pima County in southeastern Arizona...

* until 230 am MST

* at 1227 am MST... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the
Tucson Metro area... as well as the Catalina and Rincon Mountains.
Radar estimates between 0.75 and 1.25 inches of rain has fallen
along Valencia Road... especially near Interstate 10... as well as
along Houghton Road. This will result in significant ponding of
water along roadway dips and other low lying areas resulting in
street flooding.

In addition to the city... between 1.00 and 1.50 inches of rain has
fallen across the northern slopes of the Catalina mountains and near
Redington pass. This will cause small stream flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in
urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage areas and low lying spots. Expect heavy flow in
normally dry washes. Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads.
