Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 4:44 PM MDT on September 02, 2015

The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
central Santa Cruz County in southeastern Arizona...

* until 645 PM MST

* at 440 PM MST... a trained weather spotter reported one inch of
rain had fallen near Tubac in the last 30 minutes. Another one
half to one inch of rain will be possible as additional
thunderstorms move into parts of central Santa Cruz County. This
will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Nogales... Rio Rico northwest... Rio Rico northeast...
Tumacacori-Carmen... Rio Rico southwest... Rio Rico southeast...
Tubac... Pena Blanca Lake... Rio Rico... Tumacacori and Amado.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in
urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage areas and low lying spots. Expect heavy flow in
normally dry washes. Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads.

A Flood Advisory means river... wash or stream flows are elevated... or
ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.
It takes only a few inches of swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles
away.
