Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue across much of Southeast Arizona through early this evening. The storms will produce locally heavy rainfall in excess of one inch that could result in areas of flooding. In addition...some blowing dust is possible which may locally reduce visibility...particulary on I-10 from Marana to Red Rock. The storms are drifting to the north at about 5 to 10 mph.

The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
southeastern Pinal County in southeastern Arizona...
northeastern Pima County in southeastern Arizona...

* until 600 PM MST

* at 403 PM MST... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms near Catalina... saddlebrooke and Oracle Junction
this will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
saddlebrooke... Catalina... Oracle Junction... and Catalina State
Park. Expect runoff to enter Big Wash and the Canon del Oro wash
that flow south and southwest through Oro Valley.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in
urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage areas and low lying spots. Expect heavy flow in
normally dry washes. Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads.

* small stream Flood Advisory for...
eastern Santa Cruz County in southeastern Arizona...

* until 600 PM MST

* at 356 PM MST... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding in eastern
portions of Santa Cruz County... mainly east of Patagonia and south
of Sonoita. Radar rainfall estimates indicate hourly amounts of up
to two inches with this storm. Elsewhere... amounts range from a
half to three quarters of an inch... with isolated amounts in
excess of one inch.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Rio Rico northeast... Rio Rico southeast... Patagonia... Patagonia
Lake... Sonoita... Rio Rico and Elgin.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely.

north central Pima County in southeastern Arizona...

* until 515 PM MST

* at 320 PM MST... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms near San Luis and Comobabi. This will cause small
stream flooding both north and south of San Luis and Comobabi.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... low water
crossings along Highway 86 between Sells and the Route 15
Junction... the San Luis wash which flows south toward the Vamori
wash. Thunderstorms will continue late this afternoon and could
produce 1 to 2 inches of rain in less than an hour.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in
urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage areas and low lying spots. Expect heavy flow in

southwestern Cochise County in southeastern Arizona...

* until 430 PM MST

* at 228 PM MST... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms in the Bisbee area and along Highway 80 northwest of
Bisbee. This will cause small stream flooding in the advisory
area. Radar indicated rainfall amounts of one to two inches have
already occurred in this area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Bisbee... Junction of highways 80 and 90 and Naco.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of washes
and streams... as well as farm and country roads. Do not attempt to
travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely.
