... Weather pattern change this Saturday into Sunday impacting
Holiday travel...

High pressure breaks down into the weekend as a series of storms
move into the region. The first system moves through Saturday with
a wetter system arriving for Sunday. Look for moderate winds over
the Snake River Plain and mountains with gusts near 30 mph
Saturday afternoon... then gusts near 40 mph Sunday afternoon. Very
light snow amounts are expected through Saturday night then
increasing into Sunday night and Monday. The eastern Magic Valley
will likely see rain during this event. The lower Snake River
Plain will start out with snow early Sunday and turn to rain in
the afternoon. Mountain areas will see 1 to 3 inches of snow.
Western slopes for The Sawtooth mountains and eastern slopes for
the eastern Highlands near the Wyoming border will see 3 to 5
inches of snow. Expect blowing and drifting snow over mountain
passes particularly Galena Summit... Pine Creek Pass and Jackson
Pass.
