The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
northwestern Lincoln County in west central Wyoming...

* until 930 PM MDT

* at 726 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
a thunderstorm with very heavy rainfall occurring near alpine.

* A half an inch of rain is possible in about 20 minutes which could
cause mud and rock slides or even a debris flow in the Snake River
and greys river canyons.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive rainfall may cause mud and rock slides in areas of steeply
sloped terrain.

To report flooding... have the nearest law enforcement agency relay
your report to the National Weather Service forecast office in
Riverton.

Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 6:38 PM MDT on May 03, 2015

... Flood Advisory remains in effect for southern Lincoln County until
830 PM MDT...

At 634 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
much of the heavy rainfall had shifted away from the advisory
area... but additional showers and thunderstorms were trying to form
over southwest Wyoming. Additional heavy rainfall could cause some
minor flooding in low lying or poor drainage areas... or even cause a
mud or Rock Slide in steeply sloped areas.

Locations of greatest concern for flooding will be from Fossil Butte
National Monument to just south of Lake Viva Naughton... which is
north of Kemmerer along Highway 233.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely.

Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 6:53 PM MDT on May 03, 2015

... Significant weather advisory for southwestern Teton County in
northwest Wyoming... and northwestern Lincoln County in west central
Wyoming until 745 PM MDT...

At 648 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar was tracking a
strong thunderstorm 9 miles south of Palisades... which is 12 miles
west of alpine... moving east at 20 mph.

The main hazard from this storm will be brief heavy rainfall. Also
small hail and wind gusts to 40 mph are expected with this storm.
The heavy rainfall in a short amount of time could cause localized
mud or rock slides in steeply sloped terrain such as in the Snake
River Canyon east of alpine.

This storm will be near...
alpine around 715 PM MDT.

If threatening weather approaches your area... take shelter in a
sturdy building.
