The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
central Sweetwater County in south central Wyoming...

* until 900 PM MDT

* at 552 PM MDT... local law enforcement continued to report flash
flooding across the Rock Springs area... and additional flooding
could be occurring over other areas of central Sweetwater County.

* This Flash Flood Warning extends the previous flash flood warnings
that were in effect for Rock Springs and the Point of Rocks areas.

* The Rock Springs police are urging people to stay off the roads
until the water recedes.

This includes Interstate 80 between mile markers 94 and 138.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

Turn around... dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 630 PM MDT for
central Sweetwater County...

At 457 PM MDT... Doppler radar continued to indicate very heavy rain
occurring over the Rock Springs area. Law enforcement has reported
street flooding in the Rock Springs. Additional heavy rainfall will
likely intensify the flooding around Rock Springs.

People are urged not to drive unless necessary until the water
begins to recede.

This includes Interstate 80 between mile markers 94 and 114.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

Turn around... dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
west central Sweetwater County in south central Wyoming...

* until 745 PM MDT

* at 440 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is expected to
begin shortly from just east of the Little America to the Green
River area.

* Locations of greatest concern as of 440 PM is west and north
of Green River but Green River could see thunderstorms begin to
impact them between 5 and 530 PM which could produce flash
flooding in Green River.

This includes Interstate 80 between mile markers 71 and 94.

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

... Flash Flood Watch in effect until 10 PM MDT this evening...

The National Weather Service in Riverton has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of Wyoming... including the
following areas... Casper Mountain... .Green Mountains and
rattlesnake range... Lander foothills... Natrona County lower
elevations and Wind River basin.

* Until 10 PM MDT this evening

* sub tropical moisture will override a surface front today.
Showers and embedded thunderstorms will increase across the area
this afternoon and evening. Locally heavy rainfall will fall out
of the stronger storm cores with up to an inch of precipitation
falling in short order... with the potential for flash flooding.

* Rock or mud slides will be possible in steeply sloped areas...
especially around Casper Mountain.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

Strong thunderstorms will be near...

Jeffrey City around 625 PM MDT.
Crooks Gap around 635 PM MDT.
Green Mountain around 715 PM MDT.
