... High Wind Warning in effect until noon MST today...

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a High Wind
Warning... which is in effect until noon MST today.

* Timing... very strong winds will continue through the morning
hours.

* Winds... west 30 to 40 mph with gusts over 60 mph. Even stronger
gusts around 80 mph are expected around Clark. Clark has already
reported a gust to 81 mph at 550 am MST this morning.

* Impacts... travellers along Highway 120 between Cody and Clark
should expect very strong Crosswinds at times. These winds could
be strong enough to cause blowovers. Slow down and be alert.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.

A strong west wind will blow at times through this morning across
the Cody foothills. The strongest winds will be between Cody and
Clark where west winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts of 50 to 60 mph
are possible at through the morning hours. Travellers on Highway
120 between Cody and Clark should be prepared for these strong
Crosswinds. The winds will diminish this afternoon as a cold front
drops south across the area.
