Special Statement
Statement as of 3:16 PM MDT on April 24, 2015

... Wet and cooler weekend ahead for eastern Utah and western
Colorado...

Showers and thunderstorms will taper off temporarily this evening
before increasing again across the mountains later tonight. A
line of showers is expected to reach northeast Utah around midnight
tonight and trek eastward into western Colorado by daybreak.

A stronger low pressure system currently along the Pacific
northwest coast will strengthen and dive south through eastern
Nevada and western Utah Saturday to eastern Arizona Sunday... and
then move east across New Mexico Sunday night into Monday. The
associated cold front will move through the region Saturday night
and Sunday bringing widespread showers... a few thunderstorms... and
cooler temperatures.

Snow accumulations are expected in the higher terrain with the
San Juan Mountains favored to receive significant accumulations
over its highest elevations. Valley rain and mountain snow
showers are expected to persist into Monday but will focus nearer
the Continental Divide.
