Special Statement
Statement as of 11:34 PM CST on February 27, 2015

... The threat of additional light snow and ice accumulations will
exist tonight through Saturday afternoon...

An upper level disturbance will continue to push east across
northern New Mexico to across the the Texas and Oklahoma
panhandles... and promote chances for up to one half inch of
additional snowfall to the South Plains tonight... with heaviest
accumulations anticipated to fall across the far southwest Texas
Panhandle and northern South Plains. Additionally... a moist and
warmer airmass moving in from the south will produce areas of
light snow and freezing rain tonight through Saturday afternoon.

While not expected to bring much in the way of
accumulation... light icing of less than one tenth of an inch will
further compound travel issues on top of snow covered roadways as
temperatures remain well below freezing. If travel remains
necessary tonight into Saturday afternoon... motorists should slow
down and drive with caution. Temperatures will begin to warm to
near or above freezing across the South Plains late Saturday
morning while locations in the northern rolling plains and far
southeastern Panhandle likely remain near or below freezing until
early to mid Saturday afternoon.
