Flash Flood Watch in effect until 7 am CDT Friday... Showers and thunderstorms currently along a Langtry to del Rio to Bandera to Luckenbach to Lampasas line will move to the southeast at 35 mph. By 1 am CDT...the showers and thunderstorms will extend from Eagle Pass to San Antonio to Lago Vista to Killeen line. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches and wind gusts up to 60 mph are expected. New flash flooding can be expected with some New River flooding possible.

* at 1203 am CDT... severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 6 miles southwest of Kempner to near Spicewood to
near Twin Sisters... moving east at 50 mph.

Hazard... 60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

* until 415 am CDT

* at 1145 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing
heavy rain across the northern and eastern Hill Country. Up to two
inches of rain have already fallen... and saturated soils along
with standing water in normally Dry Creek beds will result in
flash flooding with as little as 1 inch of rain.

... Flash Flood Watch in effect from 7 PM CDT this evening through
Friday morning...

The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has expanded
the

* Flash Flood Watch to include a portion of south central
Texas... including the following areas... Bastrop... Bexar...
blanco... Burnet... Caldwell... Comal... Dimmit... Fayette... frio...
   Guadalupe... Hays... Kendall... Lee... Maverick... Medina...
Travis... Williamson and Zavala.

* From 7 PM CDT this evening through Friday morning

* rainfall is expected to approach the Rio Grande from the west
this evening and progress eastward across The Hill Country and
potentially through the I-35 corridor during the overnight
hours. Between 1-2 inches of rain is forecast with isolated
amounts of 3 inches possible.

* Due to the very moist conditions of the grounds and soils in
the area... rapid flash flooding of low water crossings and
some roadways will be possible where heavy rain develops.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means flash flooding is possible in or near
the watch area. If you are in the watch area... plan now for what
you will do if flash flooding develops. Stay informed and be
