Statement as of 7:08 PM CDT on May 05, 2015

The National Weather Service in Austin San Antonio has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
north central Comal County in south central Texas...
northwestern Hays County in south central Texas...
south central Burnet County in south central Texas...
western Travis County in south central Texas...
Blanco County in south central Texas...
south central Williamson County in south central Texas...

* until 1000 PM CDT

* at 704 PM CDT... radar estimates and gauge reports indicated over 1
and 1/2 inches of rain is falling from a cluster of showers and
thunderstorms over the eastern Hill Country. New cell development
to the south suggests some training of cells may result in a
threat for flooding. Through 10 PM... portions of The Hill Country
and the western half of the Austin Metro area... may see isolated 2
to 3 inch rainfall amounts.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Austin... Cedar Park... Wimberley... Dripping Springs... blanco... Round
Mountain... Anderson Mill... Lakeway... Lago Vista... Canyon Lake... Bee
Cave... West Lake Hills... the hills... Johnson City... Woodcreek...
Rollingwood... Bear Creek... Flugrath... Spicewood and Pedernales
Falls State Park.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. If flooding is observed act quickly. Do not
drive through areas where water covers the Road.
