The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a
* Flood Warning for
the mission river at Refugio.
* Until late Sunday night... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 8 PM Saturday the stage was 23.1 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 23.8 feet by
tomorrow morning. The river will fall below flood stage tomorrow
late morning.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 25.2 feet
on Mar 20 1997.
* At 23.0 feet minor lowland flooding occurs. The lowest areas of
the City Park and facilities... including the Pavillion building are
flooded. Much of park is also flooded.

* Forecast... the river will hold steady near 13 feet and begin a slow
fall by Sunday afternoon.
* At 12.0 feet minor lowland flooding occurs.
