Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 5:03 PM CDT on August 31, 2015

The National Weather Service in League City has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
northwestern Galveston County in southeastern Texas...
southeastern Harris County in southeastern Texas...

* until 600 PM CDT

* at 501 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
1 inch of rain has fallen in the last 30 minutes at the NWS
Houston/Galveston forecast office. Rain rates near 2 inches an
hour will be possible with this storm. This could cause street
flooding in low lying areas or where drainage is poor.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
southeastern Pasadena... League City... Texas City... La Porte...
Dickinson... La Marque... Santa Fe... Seabrook... Webster... Kemah...
Clear Lake... eastern south belt / Ellington... Nassau Bay... Taylor
Lake Village... El Lago... Shoreacres... Clear Lake Shores... morgan's
point... Ellington Field and Bacliff.

Additional rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is expected over the area. This
additional rain will make minor flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated... or
ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.
It takes only a few inches of swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles
away.
