The Flood Warning continues for
the Sabine River near Gladewater, Texas.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 715 am Saturday the stage was 31.2 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 26 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 34.7 feet by
Wednesday morning then begin falling.
* Impact... at 36.0 feet... expect moderate to severe flooding with some
secondary roadways near the river to be closed. Also homes will be
threatened with flooding and preparations should be completed for a
major flood.

early Tuesday morning then begin falling.

* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 14 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to a stage of 17.6 feet
by Sunday morning.
* Impact... at 18.0 feet... expect severe flooding with some barns
facing flooding. Preparations should be completed for moderate
flooding.

* Until late tonight... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 815 am Saturday the stage was 16.2 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 16 feet.
* Forecast... the creek will continue to fall to below flood stage by
late this morning.
* Impact... at 16.0 feet... expect minor lowland flooding problems.
Ranchers that may have cattle and equipment in the creek bottoms
should move them to higher ground.

Franklin County in northeastern Texas...

* until 1245 PM CDT

* at 747 am CDT... Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to one inch of rain has
already fallen. In the wake of this thunderstorm and other
previous storms recently... a line of showers and thunderstorms
moving east will spread over the area. Flash flooding is expected
to begin during the morning hours.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Mount Pleasant... Gladewater... Gilmer... Mineola... Pittsburg...
Winnsboro... Leesburg... Hagansport... Mount Vernon... Daingerfield...
Quitman... Lone Star... Naples... Big Sandy... Hawkins... Ore City...

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 PM CDT this
evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of southwest Arkansas... northwest Louisiana...
southeast Oklahoma and northeast Texas... including the
following areas... in southwest Arkansas... Hempstead...
Howard... Lafayette... Little River... Miller... Nevada
and Sevier. In northwest Louisiana... Bossier and Caddo.
In southeast Oklahoma... McCurtain. In northeast Texas...
Bowie... Camp... Cass... Cherokee... Franklin... Gregg...
Harrison... Marion... Morris... Panola... Red River...
Rusk... Smith... Titus... Upshur and wood.

* Until 7 PM CDT this evening

* showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop and spread
over the area today with the passage of an upper level trough
of low pressure and along and near a cold front that will be
slow to move south and east across the area. Locally heavy
rainfall amounts of one to three inches are expected... with
isolated higher amounts. The soil remains saturated and this
new rainfall will quickly runoff into our already swollen
local and area wide drainage systems.

* Low lying and poor drainage areas... especially in the vicinity
of rapidly rising bayous... creeks and streams... will be most
prone to flash flooding during heavy rainfall.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
